Think out of the box !

... to assist good teachers become great !!

Hello. I'm Haruko Sannomiya ( ⇒ CV ).

I am a teacher-trainer, researcher on teaching English as a foreign language (EFL), and interaction analyst at Iwate University, Japan. I previously taught at public high schools in Iwate Prefecture, then worked with EFL teachers and teachers-to-be at Kobe City University of Foreign Studies and Dito University.

The above headline is my mission statement. You may well wonder what I mean by "good" and "great"; I do, too. I think exploring the question is in itself essential to good teaching.

... I divide questions into two types:

one to be answered; the other to be kept asking.

Many teaching/learning issues are the latter. Yet people rush to conclusion too fast, too easily. Teacher educators' most important responsibility is to inspire people's intellectual curiosity and support conscious effort to embrace questions unanswered.
